This year the festival has full-length performances of The Barber of Seville and Tosca, a symphony Concert from the British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Wicked Women, a celebration of outrageous ladies in life, literature and music, and these are just four of the new events featuring in the Festival.

Two Opera Gala performances, explore Italy on a Grand Tour, and presents the highnotes of Three English Tenors. Locally, The Northumbrian Ranters presents the traditional tunes and melodies of the North, and local lad and opera’s favourite bass Graeme Danby sings the ever popular Flanders and Swann, and the accomplished American Tom Lehrer. Finally, The Band of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers represents the polished world of brass and military music.
