Happy Autumn to all our wonderful customers past and present.
Sandy, Carol and Jim would like to let you know, that after 42 years of farming and running the holiday cottages in our beautiful riverside location, that is West Ord, the time has come to take things a little easier.
This has not been an easy decision, we have had huge pleasure over the years, developing and improving our businesses, bringing up our family and enjoying the friendship of wonderful neighbours, and of course yourselves, our many, many loyal customers who have become firm friends.
A large part of this year has been spent, organising both businesses in preparation for its sale, and we are delighted to tell you that the new owners are the Kinch family. They will be taking over from us at the end of October, and intend to continue farming and running the three holiday cottages that are South Bells and Geary Shiels, along with Shepherds Cottage.
Tammy Kinch has enjoyed running her own holiday cottage, on the farm the family are leaving behind in Somerset, and is looking forward to taking on the holiday cottages, and meeting up with many of you, whom she hopes will continue to love staying at West Ord. Until, the Kinch family find their feet, they have decided to close the cottages from November 2025 until the beginning of April 2026 however, the website is active regarding next year’s availability and pricing, and bookings can be made, although in the short-term payments would need to be by Bank Transfer.
Tammy will be delighted to speak to customers old and new, and give any help required, the email address remains the same stay@westord.co.uk
As for ourselves, Sandy and Carol have bought a house in East Ord (not very far away!), and very much look forward to making it their new home, Jim is continuing to enjoy his home in Horncliffe, and has been spared a move! We will be delighted to catch up with friends holidaying here in the future, so do pop in and catch us for a coffee if you are in the locality.
Thank you all, for your wonderful support and business over these many years, and we hope you will continue to enjoy the delights of West Ord, well into the future.
Best wishes,
Sandy, Carol and Jim
